I arrived back, after several years of absence, to my Soul quarters about 10:00 PM, Saturday, December 5th. After a short night, I found myself preaching to Pastor John Song's Torch Light Baptist Church on Sunday morning. Brother Mike Marshall arrived and caught up with our team at noon. We held services at Agape Foreigner's Church, a unique church ministering to illegal alien workers from many Asian countries.
The Chaplain's Bible Study met at Ch (COL) "Sam I am" the Preacherman Sanford, Hospital Chaplain, Yongson Army Base, HQ Eight Army. Chaplains Randy Griffin (aviation unit), Jim Nichols, Matthew Wysocki, (Hannam Village Chapel), and Ken Werho, whom I had met at Camp Carroll a few years back, were among the attendees. Our Monday meeting with these godly Chaplains set up the ministry with the American Army
Wednesday began with a trip to Trinity Seminary, Torch Center, to preach the chapel service to their international student body. A great time and lunch with faculty and students followed this unusual meeting. That evening, we began our ministry to the Korean Armed Forces at the midweek service at the National Central Ministry Chapel, Ministry of Defense, Seoul. The chapel was packed with several hundred military members ranging from privates to colonels. What joy it is to preach there!
Yum Kwang Christian High School students were taking their cumulative high school exam to enter college. All chapel services were canceled the week before their exams, but the principal asked if I would come and preach a special Thursday chapel service for their 2,200 young ladies. There was very little stirring as they hung on every word and the Holy Spirit worked in their hearts.
By noon we met with Christian commanders of the Ministry of Defense (the Korean equivalent to our Department of Defense). I was invited to bring a message to the National Defense Christian Fellowship. The highest ranking Christian military men of their armed forces attended, along with the Deputy Minister of Defense. They presented me with a commemorative plaque of our visit.
Ministry to the Americans began on Saturday morning at the Men's Prayer Breakfast, Hannam Village Chapel, Yongson. They ate up breakfast, Defenders, and the message! Hannam Village Chapel was full on Sunday morning with American military families! I preached my heart out and they loved it! Thank you Chaplain Wysocki for such a great ministry!
Sunday night we were back preaching to the Koreans at Seoul Air Force Base. The Christian Air Force One and Helicopter One pilots were both present. Both Rev. Marshall and I spoke to a full house of receptive airmen and officers!
Monday, 6:30 AM, was the last request for a "challenging lesson" to a small prayer group of sophisticated men of science, government, and the arts. God gave me a special lesson for this special group. Then, it was time to come home with thankful hearts for all those who committed theirs lives to Christ!
